• This past April through May, we conducted an online survey to gather topic ideas for a technical short course. Thank you to everyone who responded. Only 31 people participated in the survey, but we hope the number of responses will increase as time goes on.
  
  These surveys allow the council members to hear what you, as the section, have to say. Surveys and e-mails are a great way to let your council know what you would like to get out of your section membership!

• Information for the 2010 Officer Elections has been posted to the website. Contained on this page is a description of the available positions and their areas of responsibility. Also located on this page is a link to a candidate nomination form for those interested in playing an active role in our section. The deadline for nominations is June 30^th.

• A Young Professional Happy Hour has been planned for the end of July!
  (Despite the name, this event is open to everyone in the section whether they are a young professional or not.)
  
  Who: AIAA Young Professionals (and anyone else!)
  When: Thursday, July 29 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  Where: The Boathouse Landing, 124 N John Sims Pkwy, Valparaiso, FL
  
  Come join in the fun at the Bilge Pub of the Boathouse Landing in Valparaiso, FL. AIAA members are welcome to bring prospective AIAA members, friends and family. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided.
  
  This get-together will be a great opportunity to network with other young professional members and get to know one another outside typical AIAA events. We expect this event to be lots of fun and hope you will be able to attend!

  Also, we would like to welcome Jim Rogers and Jeff Komives to the section council. Jim will be tackling the position of Technical Officer and Jeff will participate as an At-Large Technical Area Advisor. We are grateful to have these new council members and look forward to working with them!

• The section website has been updated with a new layout and an improved interface for the council-only section. These changes were made based on feedback gathered over the previous years. If anything seems to behave oddly or is difficult to read / understand, this kind of feedback is valuable for the webmaster to know.

• Results for the 2008-2009 AIAA Section Awards are now available. Our section did well, although, not quite as well as we had hoped for. Still, a congratulations is in order for all officers and chairs that received awards.
